Travel and Vaccination Center
At Kitale Hospital, we offer comprehensive Travel and Vaccination Services to prepare you and your family for safe international travel and workplace health. Our services include:
- Complete range of required and recommended vaccinations for international travel, including the Yellow Fever vaccine.
- In-depth physician and nurse consultations, immunizations, and medical prescriptions tailored to your travel needs.
- Provision yellow fever vaccines and the yellow fever cards.
- Health vaccinations covering Tetanus, Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, and seasonal influenza.

Child Vaccines
Kitale Hospital offers various vaccination services, including KEPI vaccines and those for travelers, pregnant women, and children. They also provide Hepatitis A and B vaccines and have services for child immunization and well-baby clinics.

- Every Wednesday we offer BCG and Measles/Rubella vaccines
- Traveler's Vaccines: Specialized vaccination services are provided for travelers.
- Pregnant Women: Includes TD vaccine for pregnant women.
- Child Immunization: A key service offered at Kitale Hospital.
- Hepatitis A and B Vaccines
- Well-Baby Clinic: Offers services related to child health, growth monitoring, and vaccines.
KEPI Vaccines
The Kenya Expanded Programme on Immunization (KEPI) provides a schedule of vaccinations for children to protect them from various diseases. This schedule includes vaccinations at birth, 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 14 weeks, 6 months, and beyond. Key vaccines include those for tuberculosis (BCG), polio (OPV), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DPT), Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), hepatitis B, pneumococcal disease (PCV), and rotavirus.
Vaccination Schedule
- At Birth: BCG, OPV Zero dose, Hep B birth dose.
- 6 weeks: Penta-1, OPV-1, PCV-1, Rotavirus.
- 10 weeks: Penta-2, OPV-2, PCV-2, Rotavirus.
- 14 weeks: Penta-3, OPV-3, PCV-3, Rotavirus.
- 6 months: HepB, DTaP, Hib, PCV, Rotavirus (if needed), Flu Vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine.
- 12 months: MMR, HepA, PCV (4th dose).
- 15 months: VAR (Varicella), DTaP (4th dose), Hib (final dose).
- 18 months: HepA (2nd dose).
- 4 years: DTaP (5th dose), IPV (4th dose), MMR (2nd dose), VAR (2nd dose).
Note
- The Pentavalent vaccine protects against five diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B.
- The Rotavirus vaccine protects against severe diarrheal disease.
- The Flu vaccine is recommended annually for children 6 months and older.
- Catch-up vaccinations are available for children who have missed some doses.
- Contraindications and precautions should be discussed with a healthcare provider before vaccination.
